First off I think the dallas cowboys are a way better team then they were before Bill parcells(former head coach) left. Wade phillips is a great defensive coordinator who helped lead the chargers to a 14-2 record. There offensive coordinator jason garret has an offensive scheme that is nearly garenteed to work, the only problem is whether there offense can learn it. They have gotten some help on there free safety issue. And there quarterback position is just about perfected. With Tony Romo gaining more experience he gets better. They also have a 14 year veteran named brad johnson and a couple of other young quarterbacks.

I think the Cowboys are very good right now partly because I am a Cowboys fan so I want to know what you think about this team and where it is going.

I have recieved most of this information from www.dallascowboys.com

How can you say they are a good team right now? The season hasn't even started. The only way we will know is when the season starts..

If you're meaning they are a good team on "paper" then that's a different story. But, if you really want to judge a team on paper the Skins have a better team then Cowboys and so do the Eagles. On paper doesn't mean anything.. If we were going to judge a team before the season starts I'd have to go with the Skins. They have had the best team in your division on paper for the past 5 years... What have we learned? That teams on paper don't mean JACK! The skins are horrible but have excellent players. The Eagles are good, and the Giants don't look too shabby either.

I think your 'Boys could win the division this year but look out for the Eagles.. With a healthy McNabb they are nice.

oh yea, for the win- GOOOO PATS!

The cowboy were pretty good last year and would made it to the 2nd round had Romo not bobbled the ball. Their defense was pretty good except for the tendency to let big pass plays unfold. With the addition of Hamlin and improvement of some of the young guys they should be better in that area and with Ware gettting better, their first rounder Spencer and Wade phillips their defense should be better this year. Their offense has been very good and if Romo can play like he did last year with more consistency the offense should be better especially with the additoin of Leonard Davis on the O-line and two very motivated running backs. Special teams could even improve with the new kicker they picked. This is a very promising year for the Cowboys. I think the only team they need to watch out for is the Saints, and i cant wait to see them play the Bears in week 3.

the cowboys are going to be amazing this year. Even though I too am a huge fan, i can see them going 12-4 and to the conference championship. Romo is surrounded with so many weapons, there is no way he cannot do well. The defense will be so much better thanks to Phillips. Ware and Spencer are going to have great seasons (look at what Phillips did with Merriman). Other teams now realize that they have to double team Ware, and Spencer will be no different. Pretty soon offenses have to drop 7 guys back to pass block, which leaves 3 people to throw to, and with the addtion of Hamlin and the experience of Watkins and Davis, there are going to picks galore. I can honestly see 9 players from this team reaching the pro bowl, as TO and Newman were snuffed this last year.

I am more excited for this year than any other before.

They have a team capable of going to the SuperBowl but they got to prove themselves. Their offense is good with Romo at QB. They have terrific receivers in Witten, Glenn ,and Owens. They have a decent offensive line that could be better. They have a great defense since Ellis will be back at full strength.I don't even have to mention Roy Williams, one of the best safeties in the game. They got more talent with the addition of Leonard Davis and Hamlin. They also have decent special teams with a good kicker and a good punter. Their coaching is good, but I would have put Garret as QB coach and get a more expierenced offensive coordinator.Cowboys will make playoffs as long as they have no serious injuries and players don't act like lil millionare crybabies.

first off the defense will be awesome this year. WADE phillips is the master of the 3-4 defense. But defense will not win super bowl liek it use to. Plus he has owens, glenn and Witten as recievers. Witten is a game changer with th eway he lines up. They have a serious super bowl winning backup qb in Johnson. So over all the season looks promising to Cowboy fans

I agree with red sox. on paper the raiders were awesome last year. what happened? worst record in the NFL with the number 3 defense. The cowboys will have a good shot at competing in a tough division (well the NFC's version of one)
Also, as far as what Wade Phillips did with Merriman? we still haver yet to see if that was Wade Phillips or if Merriman is just a monster. I am going with the latter.

Defensively they are a good team, will need to see the changes made by Phillips. Offensively they need to get better specially at QB (Romo needs more playtime experience)

I am hoping they have a season and I am dreaming of seeing them in the Super Bowl

i think that they're pretty well off...
i mean with Romo...they could really go places...
i mean come on....a backup QB can walk in and take the place of the starting QB AND take them to the first round of playoffs with a ***** of a WR...(T.O.)
that takes some talent to do that....but i thnk under wade they'll do great!! i look forward to this season =P
