I'm getting ready to send a cover letter for a job posting, and I don't know whether the greeting should be "Dear Mr. Ngyuen" or "Dear Ms. Nguyen".

it's an androgenous name

phuong can be a man or a woman's name

if i were you i would call the company and confirm the person's gender with the secretary

OR you could always ask to be passed to their voicemail and listen to his or her message without leaving a message yourself...

But just in case just put the name, no dear, no mr or mrs

"John Smith,"

"Phuong Ngyuen,"

I know a GIRL named Phuong so I'm pretty sure it's a woman.

I googled images when I wanted to know if a japanese name was for men or women. From doing that, it looks to me like this is a woman's name.
