You've gotten a lot of correct answers, but I thought you might want to know how to figure it out.
You start by working from right to left (just like you'd do a regular addition or subtraction problem).
1) ? minus 4 = 8. It's 12 (the 1 is borrowed from the 6); so the last digit of the first number is 2.
2) The 6 is now a 5 (because of the 1 borrowed by the 2); so 5 minus ? = 5. The answer is 0; so the next-to-last digit of the second number is 0.
3) 2 minus ? = 1. The second digit of the second number is 1.
4) ? minus 1 = 3. The first digit of the first number is 4.

it is
4272 - 1114 = 3158
to get the answer.
1) work only with the first number (_26_) and look at the first digit the answer which is in this case 8. Ask yourself what is the number that if I subtract 4 from i get 8. it is ofcourse 12. because we can not change the number of digits of any number we put the 2 in front of the 6 and we add the 1 to it. so we get 7.
2) now look at the last digit in the first number and the last digit in the answer. Ask your self what is the number that if I subtract 1 from I get 3. of course it is 4.
3) now you know all the digits of the first number which are
4272 .
4) to find the second number you can simply subtract the answer from the first number so , 4272 - 31 5 8 = 1114.
now you can reaarange the equation as 4272 - 1114 = 3158
which is what you are looking for.
