right now, you are broke. no money. it's Christmas morning. and you really need money to pay your rent or else your landlord will kick you out. as you're walking through the streets looking for work, a check for $1,000 falls out of the pocket of the man walking in front of you. to your right, there is a homeless family with a baby who's starving when it's Christmas morning.

So, what do you do? Should you keep the check for yourself? Give it to the homeless family? or return it back to the man? and why?

I'd give it back to the man, because no one knows his circumstances (what if he was going home to his starving family facing eviction?) and then I would return home for whatever food and blankets I could gather for the family (if I'm thrown out, I won't need them). I'm guessing the landlord won't kick me out for another 30 days (legally) so I can always look for work after the holiday. If not, it's back to living in my Toyota. Been there, done that.

Keep it...sorry but if I were a mother I would do whatever it took to keep my family safe and sheltered. They always would come first, no matter what. But if I lived by myself I would give it back, because karma will always come back around and get you twice as hard.

Give check back to the man. You try and cash that you'll end up with charges for check fraud

Well... Seeing how it is a check, I couldn't cash it myself, because they make you give ID these days.

Chances are I would return it to the person it belongs to.
I would do that even if it was cash, for that matter.

That's dumb. If it was the guy's check it would be useless to anyone but him anyways. And the answer should be "Get a freakin' job."
