My black friends tease me because I date white guys. Also, people have told me that by dating white men it shows that I think I am too good for black men.

Oddly enough, people don't realize that prejudice goes both ways. If you really like the guy then it shouldn't matter what skin color they have. It really doesn't mean anything except that you happen to like the men that you date. I'm sure that if you found a black man that you liked then you would date him, right? White women who date mainly black men are also asked if they think they are too good for white men. It's all in a person's perspective. Some perspectives are skewed towards one extreme or the other.

Yes, very wrong. You date white men because you like those particular white men. I'm sure there are white men out there who you think are un-date-able, and black men who are date-able. Tell these nosy people who are trying to put a label on everything they see in life that this is how you feel about these people, that they happen to attract you, and that is the only way you feel, naturally. And, (Dare I say) Good for those white guys!

I don't think so. It's just that everyone has different tastes. The same way some black guys date white women. My bf is white and I love him with all my heart and we've been together for 2 years and a half and i don't think that i'm too good for black guys or hispanic, it's just that physically talking, I like white guys.

I think the biggest reason for prejudice, is because many black people segregate themselves, just like in your case. Date who you wish. If they tease you it is no different then a white person teasing a white person who is dating a black. That would be considered racist....so is this.

I think its wrong if you go out specifically looking for white boyfriend. If you are being open and accepting and find that they just end up being who you are drawn to then I don't see the problem. There is a difference from being attracted to white men and refusing to give black men a chance.

Why should it bother your friends who you are dating as long as you are happy and the relationship is a healthy one?

Oh, give me a break. I bet you date white men because you happen to be attracted to them and it has nothing to do with any other race.

If they do not like your choice of boyfriends, hang out with a different group of people.

There are lots of mixed-race couples out there. There are also a lot of people who will tease you or even shun you for dating someone of a different race. Unfortunately, It goes with the territory.

They need to get over it. As long as you don't start THINKING that white men are superior to black men, there's nothing wrong with dating someone who's different from you.

Maybe you can find new friends?

rubbish!!!!! I sure the reason you date, white guys, is because the guys you met, you liked. This means , Just that. Maybe the next guy might be another colour, green or sky blue, As long as you find love and happiness, nothing else should matter.
