Bush wants all Middle Eastern countries to have a democratic vote. He just wants them to vote the way he tells them to as happened in Iraq after we started their war. If he doesn't get the man he wants, he abdicates and absolves himself of all responsibility. Well, not actually, he still supports his losing pick with money and weapons.

This fundamentally comes down to Bush’s complete ignorance about the world around him. Of course, what do you expect from a President that never traveled the world, or had any interest in traveling the world before he entered office?
Individuals in America, who are naïve, like our President, think that merely bringing Democracy, to previously despotic countries will lead to a more liberal society that is open to the United States. Little do they know that once a nation of people has been acclimated to tyranny for so long, and also adhere to radical religious belief systems, their democratic exercises will only work to serve militant and fundamentalist ends. This is why Hamas has so much support in Gaza, and why Hezbollah is so popular in Lebanon. People have become inured to fundamentalist ideology, and their free expression of Democracy will only lead, paradoxically, to oppressive movements.
In short, the exportation of American style Democracy doesn’t work all the time. One shoe doesn’t fit everyone. If Bush had a better understanding of the world than an average 5th grader, maybe this would not strike him as a surprise.

No, I don't remember that. I also don't remember Bush being angry or saying such a thing. It's good to know that you're willing to pay even more taxes to fight in the Gaza Strip as well because Hamas is not our friend but is with the likes of Al Qeida.

What's your beef exactly? Just because they had free elections, doesn't mean we have to like the outcome.
The Palastineans made a terrible choice, and set the peace process back years. You expect Bush to be happy about that?

Well the problem is that Bush thinks that there should be democracy, but a democracy in which the people are forced to accept his choices over theirs...

You are so right. Bush should stand up and defend Hamas right now. Maybe he could give them some more bullets so they could drag their opponents out in to the street and execute them for simply wanting peace with Israel. Yea - that makes sense.

Hamas has but one reason for existence...to see to the ultimate destruction of Israel, our ally. If you don't see the problem, then you have deeper issues than your hatred of George Bush.

Why would anybody support Hamas? I mean...except Hamas? Why don't you go over there and try to be friends with them. They wouldn't care. They would kill you or use you for leverage for a little while and then kill you. That sounds harsh but it's true. They are terrorists. Fatah wants peace and they want to kill them because of that.
