Is there any difference between a government that tortures and murders its people for refusing to believe in God than one that tortures and murders its people for believing in God?

if A tortures and murderers it's population, how is that different from B who does the same thing for a different reason?

I think it's the murdering/torturing part that most object to.

The dictators themselves might be more or less evil. Like Castro probably isn't as bad as Hitler or Stalin but he's still a dictator. As for the form of dictatorship if they hold all the power there is nothing to check them.

Depends on your definition of evil my friend.

There is a broad range of evils and they all vary dependant on the observer.

One might consider it evil to push religion on another.

One might consider evil to not support the religion being pushed on them.

Difficult question, yet regardless a dictatorship fits into part of my definition of evil, regardless of what values or motivations they are trying to push.

Um, well there really is no good or evil other than what we project onto things - things are empty - they are neither good or bad.

So make your own call - what do YOU think is more evil? I think neither.
