Ultrasound?

I'm 11 weeks, and I was wondering when will I get my first ultrasound & how many will I get throughout my pregnancy?

My doctor usually does 2 in pregnacy. One in the first trimester, then again around week 20. Different doctors have diffferent thoughts on this though.

Unless there is a reason for you to get one sooner, it will normally be around 20 weeks. I am 22 weeks and have had 4, but only because I was cramping really bad and they didn't hear the baby's heartbeat another time. They will also do one earlier if you are unsure of your dates. Depends on what state you are in and your doctor. I only get one ultrasound at 20 weeks and most get just 1 ultrasound unless there is something going on.

You know most insurances are different. Kaiser Permenente will give you one at about 10 weeks, then one between 18-20 weeks (that is a big important one, bcuz they check EVERYTHING!), and that's it. It usually varies, but most of the time I would guess atleast 2 during your entire pregnancy, unless you are having problems (heaven forbid that).

you will likey get one at your first apt to confirm pregnancy, then another around 18-22 weeks to make sure everything is growing normally. You wont get another unless they suspect a problem. Good luck

I had one about 12 weeks...And then one to find out the sex of the baby!

i have always gotten about three. I had one at 12 weeks and one at 21 weeks and then i;mm have another32 weeks. You can ask your doctor to do one. He really can't refuse.
