Between my entire woman and me!… You don't have the RIGHT to tell me how to live my life, so drop the whole "societal norm" stuff.
In our culture, before the wedding a woman is put on a horse or mule, side saddle, and then knocked off when she least expects it...this way, he head will never swell with false pride, and her mouth will never utter a foul word toward the leader of the family.
Look at your American culture...you woman are the most unhappy female in the entire world. You work like dogs, you spend until you have no money, your gadgets and cell phone and walkmans are useless, and empty. Your marriages are shams. You idle gossip and backbite like vicious animals. Your programs on TV promote infidelity, and multiple partners (without a oath to God of marriage), and yet you judge your men so harshly.
Is it any wonder you get the wrath of your man/boyfriend and even husband for trying to BE a man?
Now what say you, "modern", insolent woman? Tell us, NOW!

I believe that here in America we are very hippocritical of our values and views.
The morman leaders used to be able to have more than 1 wife, it was normal and ok.
I do not think that society or the government should be telling us how to live certain aspects of our lives.
If you have multiple wives and the family unit is happy then who cares what some whig or pinhead down the road has to say.
AS for respect, it should go both ways, if the man respects the woman then the man should have the womens respect.

i don't gossip, i don't watch tv, i don't believe in your silly sky fairy. i have my own money, that i have saved. i don't judge my husband, i love him very much & i do not cheat on him. our marriage is not a sham. i do not try to be a man. i get no wrath from my man.

Considering that I love work, I'm a smart spender, I make great use of my electronics, I don't want to get married, I gossip rarely, I only bite back people who do the same to me, and I don't pay attention to anything I see on TV, I think I'll be happier than you might expect.
If you want polygyny, find a country where it's legal.

i don't work, except for in my house; raising my kids & keeping my husband content. i am not materialistic, i drive an 85 chevy & love it. i cook for my family every night, we dont eat fast-food. i respect my husband & he respects me. we are a team, he goes out and works hard to support his family, and i work hard to support him.
i think the problem occurs when men and women forget their places in the family. men dont wanna work to support their families, women want too much power. a mans pride is a very sensitive thing... if he feels threatened by a woman with a strong opinion, he usually throws a tantrum... pounding his fists on his chest, until the woman calms him with a warm plate of his favorite dinner & a round of fabulous sex.
