It has been done before in one form or another. (Van Damme, Jet Li, Travolta and so on) But then again...can you name the last time there was a fully original idea coming out of Hollywood...or Bollywood for that matter? How you develop the story and characters will determine whether people could see past the familiar. Sounds like something a good writer could sink their teeth into..so why not? Give it a shot.
