No, and I think that it is important that the American education system put a greater emphasis on physical education in the future. The rate of obesity among America's youth as at a historic high and a lack of physical exercise is one of the primary reasons why.

Yeah, my high school does that too. I don't really think it's that fair, honestly, since some students are just more athletic and giften in athletics than other people. And to get graded on that isn't always a good way to see if people are learning or not. I think there are a bunch of schools that have P.E. count as a grade as well, so you're not the only one!

It wouldn't be weird if PE were actually about living an active and healthy life instead of playing sports. Everyone needs to know how to take care of his/her own health. Unfortunately, many PE classes are structured with competitive sports as the main goal. If you happen to be athletic, then it's a good deal for you. But if you're not, you may only learn that sports are not your cup of tea.

Physical exercise helps the brain concentrate. Lack of exercise leads to mental illnesses.
Engage the body, rest the mind.
Engage the mind, rest the body.
What I find weird is PE at the end or begining of the day. It should be in the middle.

I hate that class with a passion, but I think that at least most of the time, you're graded on just participation. So it's not really a big deal, as long as you at least act like you're trying, it's kind of hard to get a bad grade.

Yeah it is...I hated that I had to take 2 years of P.E., yet only 1 and a half was required yet I had an open space in my schedule and there were no electives left open except... yep...you guessed it...P.E.!

They need it to count as a grade, otherwise most kid's wouldnt bother trying, or might not even go. Gym is the only excersize some kids get. With the obesity problem, we need to make sure that kids excersize.

Yes, but it may not count as heavily as a core academic class like English or math.

I should say not. This is a lesson in life. You're continually graded on how you act and perform in life. Get used to it - there's alot more where this comes from.
