You didn't say how old your daughter is. Masturbation is hard to explain to a youngster and depending on your views of the subject it may be easier than you think or harder. It's a natural part of life in my opinion but it's also a time for a few rules to be in forced. One a stuffed animal was taken (this could embarrass your son when you talk about this to him unless you can see his side objectively time for that birds and bees and the next step to happen) Your daughter walked into his room before he allowed her to come in and get decent, in my house no one enters any ones bed room with out permission unless it's an emergency. Even my six year old grandson respects that request. How to explain to your daughter what she saw? If she's old enough to understand explain it if she's asking about it. If she isn't wait until she does, she might not ever ask. As for your son his hormones are out of wack and he's placing someplace safe instead of a female. I've got to respect that one. Good luck. Hope that helps. I have three boys and I've been through it twice.

Honestly, something like this is pretty normal. I wouldn't say anything to your son because it would be an embarassing moment for him. Just let your daughter know that you're aware of the situation and "you'll handle it"...just don't mention it. She doesn't probably understand the situation and the fact at his age his hormones are in a rage. Plus, let your wife know not to say anything to him for the same reasons, at least he wasn't with a female in the house; you know?

I would talk to him about sex, & give him a couple of magazines. He is 17 after all. Just let him know that if he is using them to be in a room with a locked door, that way there is no chance of anyone walking in.

Address it in a humorous manner and laugh it off, life is funny. It may embarrass him enough to deter the behavior in the future.

as funny and also terrible that is...teenagers do strange things. leave it alone. why cause further embarrassment. whatever your son was doing, well, was strange but i'm sure he's not the first boy to do something like this.
your daughter should learn to knock before entering someone's bedroom...who knows what else she may see...

Definitely say something to him about it...in a funny way though so he won't be too defensive. He will probably be embarrassed and won't happen again.
