I have two children and at the time I have subsidized day care for them, I am wondering if there are any such agencies down there and if so if anybody has any contact info? Also, wanting to know a little more about Ocean Beach ie. schools, activities, good/bad rental areas. Thanks for any help.

Northwest area of OB not a good place for children because of lots of bikers/drinkers/drug users/partiers. I'd consider this area to be west of Sunset Cliffs Blvd and north of Newport. You'd be in a more family-friendly area either east of Sunset Cliffs or south of Newport. Unfortunately, the areas I described are not the least expensive areas of OB...the cheeper housing tends to be in the less family-friendly area. But none of it is cheep really; hope you have adequate financial resources to make the move. Ocean Beach Elementary will be the school they'll be going to no matter what part of OB you are living at, unless you can afford private. For child care info contact the YMCA Childcare Resource Center (800) 481-2151 or see link: http://www.ymcacrs.org/parents/looking_choosing.php
