No, we are not only the species that are living in space right now there is bacterial life on several planets that don't actually need oxygen.

who says we are, we are the people that haven't invented a gadget that can go further into space. We could be being watched by other life form as we read these questions and answers.

We are not, we are the only living planet that we know so far.
It is unreasonable to believe that there are no other living beings in the great expanse of this, and countless other systems of infinite space.
By the way, why is this question listed in 'pets'?

Humans have no idea about that question. but ihave the answer! there are no other people in space ( until proven otherwise) but there is other stuff. humans are SELFISH and OBLIVIOUS. when we look on other planets, we look for water and oxygen. we do not consider this one thing: we only need air and water because we ADAPTED. there was water, so we need water, there was air so we breathe air. we adapted to life on this planet. on other planets, life forms will adapt, that's how we came to be. we think other planets are not normal because they measure different on our scales, but that only means that they are normal-on their own scales. THEREFORE: we are not the only living people in space, but we are the only ones we know of, and this is BECAUSE we have ADAPTED!

we are a couple of genetic squiggles away from chimps on a planet that temporarily supports life. I have not had an alien experience but I travel regularly through Wigan always in hope that I will have one

We don't know that. You have to understand that it takes a long time for light and radio signals to travel so even if someone got a signal from us it would take like 500 years to get back.
