Do you think that J.K. Rowling should continue the Harry Potter series or end it with the final book, The Deathly Hollows?

Her plan was always to end it with the 7th book. Of course she should end there.

What's more, stretching things out for too long kills the love for it. People will get sick of it. When things like the Harry Potter series--or any series, for that matter, when in books or on TV--end while they're still enjoyed, they're put down in history as something great, rather than something that faded until we forgot about it.

Granted, it would take a while for people to tire of the Harry Potter series, but it would happen eventually. Everything's eventual.

The Beanie Baby craze was a complete fad and picked up even more when the TY company announced it would be done in 2000 and that the bear named "The End" was the last to roll out of their factories.
But it wasn't. They continued on and still make the cuddly creatures to this day, but they lacklacklack the popularity of before.
So if Rowling doesn't want to get screwed out of good money, she'll make a promise and keep it.
No more. The end.

Not with writing, that is. I could see her picking up a new character a few years down the line from Harry Potter and creating a new series, or doing something completely different, but if she picks up Harry again after DH, ooohhh no.

i really really really want her to. but she said the only thing she might do after the series about harry potter is a harry potter encyclopedia for charity. however the fandom won't end ever. go to fanfiction.net and click on the books link and find Harry Potter. this is the largest archive of hp fanfiction on the net and some of the stories are really good. and by the way, it's deathly hallows, not hollows.

i'm split on how i feel about that.... i'm thinking JKR doesnt want to be a one trick pony as the saying goes. but i think as a series DH should be the end of the current series. It brings to close a major story arc with his conflict with Voldemort. That being said i'd sure love to see a new series start up that follows his path of being the greatest Auror in wizarding history. Almost like he's a wizarding world superhero!!!

She needs to move on and hand the torch to a new author... I think she should be able to have a modest living with the royalties she is pulling in.

P.S. Dose anyone know who J.K.’s favorite author were?

I wish she would but she's already said she won't. We all know the will be PLENTY of fan fiction though. Sometime i actually like it better than the reall writers cause they can be as crazy and far off as they want without the restrictions of an editor.

I'm really gonna miss Ron. i love him the most!

I think she should end it with DH. I kind of hope that besides the encyclopedia she's going to do for charity, that she'd write "Hogwarts: A History" and give us the full backstory on this world.
