How can there be? If they lived at the same time, we could compare, but there are 200 years of changes between them.

All one could say is that Newton appeared to be a bit more diversified in his endeavor -- which actually means nothing since so little was known at Newton's time compared with today, that someone could learn everything about a subject and still have time to spare. A great example of this is Leonardo Da Vinci, who could even add art, anatomy and engineering to his already impressive list of interest.
Einstein could never do that (except perhaps for his violin), physics was already so vast a subject, that field took all his time.

it relatively is an impossible inquiry. One. enable's see Albert Einstein gain what Newton did, had Einstein been born in an identical time. And 2. enable's see what Isaac Newton might accomplish have been knowledgeable in immediately's awareness of physics. AND, with the aid of fact of neither of them can do the two, i might say that Newton grew to become into smarter. Einstein proved newton wrong on many occasions. Newton's explanation of gravity, for instance. But it's really like comparing apples and oranges. Many people have more knowledge today than Sir Issac had in his day. For example, suppose you were to transport Newton in time to the present day and sat him in front of a TV. A high school dropout would know more about how it works than he does. Of course he'd be a quick learner.

I agree with the others that say you cannot compare. Newton could only build on the science discovered before him. Same with Einstein.

I don't know if there's a consensus on this since the two were separated by 3 centuries. Clearly both were geniuses.

I'd guess Einstein might have been a tad brighter.
