I'm not racist, but realist. For example in "Marie Antoanette", there was a black guy in the palace. That's politically correct, but historically incorrect. Am I racist?

I will go out on a limb here and say......I guess because:
there are black people in the world.

I am guessing that you could not perceive or could not find realistic that someone like Denzell Washington or Angela Bassett play Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
I could....because I know that they are such excellent thespians that their color would not be what I would be focused on....they would actually become Romeo and Juliet.

Don't want to shock you, but guess what...??
Cate Blanchett is playing Bob Dylan in a soon yo be released movie that has OSCAR NOMINATION written all over it!

No, you're not racist. It's perfectly natural to be curious about these things. But sometime or another you have to realize that there are people out the that ARE DIFFERENT FROM YOU! And another thing is that in the movies today most of the time they have to put people of different races in movies because if they don't some tough critics will starting asking questions.

Um no, you're not racist. Why is it that if you talk about black people you're "racist", but if you say something about white people you're "not"? I don't really think anyone is racist unless they deliberately say that they don't like black/white/Chinese people. I mean, if you asked the question "Why are there always white people in the movies?" no one would say you're racist. Think about it- if you make a joke about white redneck people down in Arkansas, no one thinks your racist. But if you pull your pants down around the middle of your butt and say "Sup dog" and then comment that that was your imitation of Nelly, people will immediately scream that you're evil and a racist.
And I'll rant about this too- I know a lot of black people and they call themselves BLACK- not African American. I mean, no one walks around calling white people "caucasians" and no one is ever offended when someone says "white" instead of "caucasian"... Why shouldn't the same thing go for black -excuse me if you're offended- people? This world is too touchy!

It's just how movies are made, it's the same reason why white people, mexicans or whoever else are in movies. If it bothers you that much then bring it to someone who can do something about it. Be mature and post a question that has real meaning behind it.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!! I was watching that movie with my mom, and we said the same thing! (I am black btw, so back off people)

People believe in diversity now. I could go on and on about how diversity really shouldn't matter, but this hilarious guy is best at explaining it.

Do some research and you will find that in that time period the presence of a black person is historically correct.

Yes, you are racist. Did you ever hear of CHANGING THE STORY A LITTLE? God, you are brave to even ask this question on ANSWERS. Black (let me correct myself and you) African-Americans go on this site. I can't believe someone could be so racist. It pisses me off.

P.S. I am African-American, so it really offends me.
