I say the other person is right - get her "So That's What They're For!" I flipped through a lot of breastfeeding books at the store and I am so glad I picked this one. It's hilarious, informative, and can help her feel much better about breastfeeding. I was on the fence, and then I bought that book. I read it cover-to-cover in one sitting, and was convinced to breastfeed after all. It's also helped since the baby was born because I have a handy resource whenever I have a problem or question. The author is a mother of two and a certified lactation consultant. It's a great book and I can't recommend it enough!

There's a terrific book called So That's What They're For by Janet Tamao. You could get that for her.
She could also contact the La Leche League or a lactation consultant.

Tell her not to worry. It's a wonderful experience and doesn't have to hurt.
The hospital will give her some pointers before she leaves, so she will know how to do it when she needs to.

Breastfeeding can be scary and hard if you are a first timer. But there are people who can help her and mom's are always good teachers too.
