When do you get used to the new year?

instead of writing:
9/2/06 how do you get used to writing */*/07?
it takes a while for me to kick it in...even one time in like March at school i wrote 3/*/05!!! how do you get used to writing the new year? i find it when i finally get used to it...

Getting used to the new year for me has always been a pretty quick thing, basically happening Jan. 1st of the year. Now remembering to write the date so that it accurately gives the month, date, and year can take at least a couple of weeks longer as I'm so used to writing the date with a certain year (and let's face it, 365 days is certainly enough to get you used to writing with a particular year).

Sometime around November, I get used to it.

It's different for everybody. I'm finally getting it right- by Thanksgiving (a sense of "well-being" that doesn't last for very long- unfortunately!).
