I have discovered one of my supplier has (willingly or not I don't know) frauded me for 15k about 2 years ago. Now that I confront him with it he's saying it's been too long and he won't repay a mistake 2 years old. How would you handle this? It's not worth taking a lawyer, it's gonna cost me 20k to get 15 k back. It's upseting me so much I have raised my voice at him a couple of time already ...I need to stay cool and find a solution!

Being the customer, you do have the ultimate control in this situation. First, do some research and see if there is perhaps another supplier that can provide you with what you will need for your business that will allow you to continue to provide the same quality of service and quality of product to your customers at the same, better or very close to the same cost. If you can locate another supplier, then you talk to them and see what kind of deals they can work for you and get a name of the salesman/woman that you talk to.

Then you contact your current supplier that refuses to make good on the 15K mistake and let him know that because he is not willing to make it right when the both of you know it was made, even if it was two years ago, you have talked to a new supplier and will be taking your business to another supplier. Additionally, you will be sharing your story with everyone that you know does business with this company and how they have refused to make it right. One of two things will happen, he will either make it right to keep you as a customer, or he will see how serious you are and tell you that is your choice. You have to make good on it and take your business else where. You need to be calm, cool and collected in all of this, do not raise your voice, get upset and just be almost scary calm.

Go online to the Attorney General of your state. They have forms and ideas on how to fill out the forms and you can make a claim against the company. It takes time but it is free. Be gathering all of your proof, you will have to supply it along with what solution you expect. Also contact your local Better Business Bureau and file a claim against him. I don't know how long you can hold someone accountable for but if it was fraud, that's illegal and you can report him to the police. They will give you the proper insight. Go to your local police station and file a claim against him. Be sure to go back and get a report. Find out if they will pursue it or it's just another claim. They will tell you what is civil and what is not. Last, talk to an attorney and turn them loose for a percentage. One of the above will get him. Plus, don't forget word of mouth. Do not lie but just state proveable facts to everyone that listens to you. Do it for years. Sooner or later it will cost him. Word of mouth works.

Cut him from being your supplier and invest in an accountant. 15 k is a lot of money, look at contacting the better business bureau and see what can be done.
