Some man always seems to ask how to increase the frequency of sex with his wife and people answer with romance her more (ie. flowers, dinner out, spa ... etc).

I believe sex and romance should both be freely given, because otherwise it taints the giving of it.

Why is it then that so many people answer with "get your wife stuff if you want more sex"?

Is our society so materialistic that we honestly think buy affection from our spouses with stuff?

i agree with you but we control how much sex you get and if we are feeling neglected in any way then we starve you of sex till we get something we want attention, flowers, jewellery, perfume, lingerie and then we will put out. it's all about control. i think it's silly but thats the way women work.

I personally don't think so. All you have to do is show her how much you love her they're so many things you can do without having to waist money and I'm not saying you shouldn't ever but the best things are the ones that come straight from your heart like writing her a little note maybe on her lunch or on the mirror where she looks at herself when she's gonna get ready, tell her how hott her body "is" even if she's not so she can be more freely and comfortable and etc.
Use your heart and imagination... and by the way I have to agree with man up there "good sex" we woman can NOT say NO to GOOD SEX!!! ;-p Good luck!!!

Your right . We are materialistic. Go back to great grand pappy's day and you may remember that women used to come with a price on her head, err, body, person.( I'll get it right yet.) Today we don't pay the daddy for the rights to her , it goes towards winning and dinning her. Females have a price on sex, wether it's flowers, wine, dress or shoes or a car. It's put out or get out. Prosfesionals only want green backs.
Most men prefer the romance and sex in one package but when one is withheld , it cheapens the other.

From a WIFE'S point of view, I can tell you that all the money in the WORLD wouldnt make me want to have sex more.... I'm just NOT like that!

What DOES work is TIME! The more TIME my husband spends with me, the nicer he talks to me, the more he helps me w/ the kids and cleaning around the house, the more CUDDLING he does w/ me... the more SEX he gets!!

I could care LESS about anything he could ever BUY me.... all I want is time, attention, appreciation and a little HELP w/ the responsibilities that I have... THAT is what puts ME "in the mood!"

(And he KNOWS it!!)

That's the real problem. Give her good sex and you will have her more often. As simple as that, it doesn't matter how many things you can buy for her, if sex is not good, she won't be looking forward to it. She needs to enjoy it to the most and discover that there is always there, beyond the limits of her imagination. I have never heard of a woman who after having good sex, doesn't ask for more. Good luck, and go for it.

You're picking up on the double standard, eh? Isn't it funny that noone tells the women "to get out of sex, buy your husband a set a golf clubs".

I agree with you. And yes, our society IS that materialistic.

Do you think that if you pay a prostitute to have sex with you that you are buying her affection? Then why do you equate giving your wife stuff to have sex with you as buying her affection?

Love, sex and romance aren't necessarily interrelated.

Personally, I don't want to have sex with a woman if she places conditions on it like having to do or give her something. If she does that, then I don't find her sexually appealing. Heck, at that point I wouldn't like her much as a person. let alone as a woman.

hmm all I know is that foreplay for women starts way before we get in the bedroom. I don't need to be given materialistic items but when certain things are done for me during the day my desire for my man rapidly increases. For example if he were to take out the trash without me asking, I would be aroused by his initiative. If he were to bring me home flowers It would show me how much he cares for me,I would then want to show him how much I really care for him.

The only thing your wife should get for sex is a good dose of love spooge, her own occasional orgasm or two and may be a nice post coital snuggle.

If she is looking for diamonds and jewels then pay her and show her *** the door like you would any good prostitue.

That's called prostitution, isn't it? Paying for sex with money or gifts. I guess if your wife is a hooker, she'd like stuff in exchange for her services. If she can't get into the mood without being paid off first, it doesn't sound like a marriage

I agree with you. If sex is used that way, it's kind of creepy. Getting nice stuff is a perk that comes from having a job, working, and having budgeting. That's much more rewarding for me.
