There is a great site that shows library sales all over the country. Libraries periodically clear out books from their shelves to make room for other ones. Sometimes you can buy books for a quarter or so, but some libraries give them away. I have been to library sales where you could take all the books you wanted - totally free. I got my Shakespeare concordance that way as well as almost a complete set of Anne Rice's. Pax - C

just type free e-books on Google search and you will find plenty of LEGAL websites offering free e-books. I knew it before because I have read plenty such free e-books. But just in case, I typed it now, and a variety of websites offer free e-books. Happy reading!

if you just want to read the books, a library should help (at least in america). online, free books can be found here, among other places: http://www.gutenberg.org/

I have discovered several thrft stores in my neighborhood that have stock piles of books for sale-- many of them new releases. I have gotten many of them for free because nobody buys their books so they are happy that somebody wants them. And your neighborhood library may have old books for sale.

its a bad habit to get the books free. writer burns his/her nights to write-- publisher puts his huge money in to publish it. why they should not be rewarded. please try to buy the books to read and preserve.
