Hey, my friend got stitches , but is complaining that their hand (where the stitch is) is being pulled to the left side.

See, they have a cut on the side of their wrist/palm and they said that when they try to move it their wrist gets pulled the opposite direction. Is that normal?

Yep, it is normal. The pulling sensation at the site of the suturing (stitches) is the skin knitting. It can be sore, and tight, for a while. If your friend is concerned that the sutures are too tight and causing a problem, or any concern regarding the sutures, present at the place where the sutures were inserted, and ask about the concerns. If not able to do that, attending any clinic and asking for the sutures to be checked, will give the information required.

multiple situations. some stitches are produced from a fabric that dissolved after basically some days, so the stitches do no longer could be bumped off. I had a motorbike accident some years in the past and that i obtained a significant decrease on my face (I landed on my chin). They presented in a plastic wellness care service to close the wound to decrease down the scarring. He shot novocaine all over the wound and started sewing it up. Then he stated me he needed to place one stitch in exterior the 'blocked' (anesthetized field) and would that be ok or did i'd like greater novocaine? I recommended him to basically flow forward (i'd already been with the aid of potential of plenty). So I rather felt the needle and thread dealing with my pores and skin. It wasn't as risky as I expected.

Yes, the skin/scar tightens up during healing. One of the reasons people have physical therapy after surgery is to prevent permanent tightening and distortion. Right now I have a healed repair after 7 stitches where I sliced into the meat and the base of my thumb next to the palm. Altho healed, it is less flexible than the rest and I will be massaging it with skin cream to restore as much as I can.

The stitches are limiting the flexibility of the skin, this is normal. Tell your friend to quit fussing over the stitches, leave them alone and have them removed when they are supposed to be removed. Keep them clean and dry. He will be just fine!

Sounds like it.

Stitches are meant to hold the wound in place, and to keep it from ripping open again. So when your friend moves, the stitches are doing their job.

I've never had them on a moveable body part aside from my mouth, but when they were in my mouth I could feel a pulling. I've also had them on my chin and face..seems like it's always somewhere on my head, lol!
