Nope! As a matter of fact, most women only need to be eating an extra 300 calories per day! We have to remember, the baby is only 2lbs, 3lbs, 4lbs, etc. Some women are hungry all day long and if they don't eat they feel nauseous. If that's the case, I would suggest eating as much protein as possible, because not only will that fill you up more than a bunch of carbs that are just going to turn into sugar and make you shakey, but your growing baby could definitley use as much protein as possible! I WOULD NOT suggest telling her that she is eating too much, she just may eat you! lol...Just kidding, but maybe somehow go about it in a sweet way, and I'm sure you'll know just how to do so! Good Luck & Congrats!

you only need an extra 300 calories per day in the last trimester. thats a jacket potato with butter. if you consider a mars bar has about 400 then its not a lot more at all! your wife should eat a healthy diet and as her pregnancy progresses she should eat smaller meals more often, not only will she become full more easily but it will help her energy levels stay balanced. she needs to remember that its hard to shift! so the better she eats the easier she will return to her pre pregnancy shape! i have only gone up a dress size and i am 30 weeks, just about to but some maternity wear!

The best thing for her to do so she don't over eat or get heartburn or gain too much weight is to eat six small meals a day instead of the usual three. Buy a pregnancy book with different ideas on what is more healthful for her and the baby. Make sure she drinks eight onces of eight things a day. Talk to the doc they can send you to a nutritionist to help plan the meals. Good luck

You need about 300 extra calories a day after the first trimester. Which is like a half a sandwich and a glass of milk. So you are not really eating double. But the choices of foods should be healthy because she is nourishing two :)

She does need a little bit more and healthy. It is ok to have something unhealthy once in a while and plenty of water. But the whole eating for 2 part it's not necessarily 2 adults just enough for her and the baby growing inside. And be aware of the cravings.

They say an extra 300 calories which if you think about it could be a candy bar or an extra slice of pizza. I figured I would eat when I was hungry and enough to where I was full but not so full it hurt to move. She knows her body better than anyone so I'm sure she'll know when to eat.

If you literally eat for two you will be as big as two people by the time you have the baby! You need on average an extra 500 calories when pregnant. If you have a super high metabolism you might need more and if you have a sluggish metabolish you can get by with less....but no....in general you don't eat for two you eat for one and a 1/4.

She needs to eat MORE, but not enough for 2 people. She needs about 300 more calories a day. That's one extra bowl of cereal, or an extra apple, granola bar, and cup of yogurt, or an extra peanut butter sandwich. Not double helpings at every meal.

No. In the first trimester she only needs an extra 100 calories a day, after that she needs 300 extra calories a day. Unless she is carrying twins, then you double those amounts.

Why the thumbs down? Those are the true numbers. I guess no one wants to know that so they can eat everything in sight and blame it on being pregnant.

No. You actually only need like 300 more calories a day. Drink lots of water and try to eat healthy food.
