i understand that they are two of the best schools, thats why i am unsure. I need to know which school is best ,academically in this specific field.

I would go with FIT - but you are really spliting hairs here.

Those are arguably the two strongest programs in the world. Good choices.
That can be a tough field to get a decent job in, so going to one of those two schools is really going to benefit you.
Are you in-state New York? If so, then FIT is a HUGE DEAL, because it's SUNY and you'd pay in-state tuition. That'd sway me.
If you aren't in-state, then either program would be good. FIT may have a slight edge. For me, it'd come down to fit - which school do you think is a better fit for you, personally? You'll likely be happier and do better there, so make your choice based on that.
Again, two good schools.

FIT is better from what I have heard.
