I'm glad that they can finally laugh about it, but throwing a party seems a bit harsh.

I doubt the Royal Prince's can laugh at the tragic death of their mother on 31 August, 1997.

This concert is being celebrated on what would have been her 46 th birthday. She was born July1, 1961.

This is their tribute to their mother and a chance to refocus the world attention on all the wonderful things she did on behalf of her charities. Over the past 10 years so much time has been devoted to conspiracy theories regarding the accident, her personal life-true or otherwise.

If you saw her in person once, you were captivated by her beauty and energy. She touched people, literally. Her shaking the hand of a person with HIV-Aids changed the world perception of the disease. It was okay to touch them. You were not going to catch the disease. The same with those with Leprosy. That one caught everyone off guard, the "unclean" for centuries.

She picked up the ill children, visited them in private, supported the families in time of crisis, and occasionally at the time of death. So much of her work went on behind the media in private.

William and Harry have wonderful memories of their Mother. They want to place the focus once again on who she was in the public eye, and music was a driving force in her life.

They are to be commended on the work put into this gala concert.

Celebrate the life she lived, think about what she could have done had she lived, and forget the gaudy details of her death.

The life of Diana, Princess of Wales deserves to be celebrated as the mourning period is over.

I think it is great! Someone I used to know died nearly ten years ago, and they left money in a trust account for the sole purpose of having parties. The first was to be after the burial service, this one went on for 24 hours. Then every five years there was to be another party, the second one went on for 2 days. Next year will be the tenth anniversary and friends are looking forward to the third party. It really has kept his memory alive, had it not been for the parties, I expect most people would have forgotten him by now. He was a really lovely guy.

The party actually isn't to celebrate her death, it's to celebrate what would be her birthday and as a memorial to the 10th anniversary of her death.

Memorial and celebration are 2 very different things.

They aren't throwing a party for that but to celebrate her life and what she had achieved for the short time she was on this earth. And she accomplished quite a bit in that short span of time.

They are celebrating on her birthday. And it's not a party,it's a concert that will earn money for Diana's charities.Visit http://www.theworkcontinues.org for a better understanding of what's going to happen.
The princes are well aware of the media coverage that this milestone anniversary is bringing;a milestone anniversary occurs in five-year increments. They chose to remember and honor their mother by doing something she'd approve of,keeping her charities alive.
My family celebrates deceased members in the family every year by giving them a birthday mass.Other famous people are remembered as well, not just Diana. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis used to go into hiding every milestone anniversary of her husband, the late John F. Kennedy's death because of press coverage;she and her family honored his memory with a mass, and awarding to a deserving person,The Profiles in Courage Award.

They are remembering and celebrating the good works she did before her death. Charities that she supported will benefit from that.

While it sounds strange, my family has remembered my father's death 19 years ago by getting together and going out for dinner. We all know why we're together, but do not let sadness keep us from remembering him. Life DOES go on, and the LAST thing Diana would have wanted would be for her sons to spend their lives in tears because she was gone. She would have wanted them to continue to live the lessons she taught.

It's not a party to celebrate her death, it's a memorial concert to celebrate her life and charitable work.

I'm no fan of Diana, however, there's nothing wrong with commemorating their mother's life.

I don't think it is a party in that sense. It is a memorial on the tenth anniversary and where did you hear it was to celebrate the death of the Princess? You sound as if you are trolling.

the party's in memory of all the good works their mom did. it is in memory of her oh-so-wonderful lively spirit that made the whole world fall in love with her every good deed. it's not to celebrate her death but her life. :)

im sure their concert would be a total blast!

So whats wrong with that? It would not deem Princes Diana to weap on her grave whilst in her life she was beautiful, gorgeous and a picture of full LIFE!

I think it will be a great tribute to her legacy. Wonder what Old Charley and Camallia are doing that day. LOL????????
