Lennon was the most key figure in the Beatles. He was the most prolific songwriter and musician of the time the Beatles were together. Many of the current generation never knew him or current "work of the time" because he died before they enjoyed rock music. I do think Ringo was the funniest and George Harrison was the most imaginitive and truly musical one of the bunch.

I think Paul is a great musician he can play all the instrument, but I don't think he a great song writer.
I would have to pick John and George tied. It's too bad they didn't team up (Lennon and Harrison)

Pete Best, but he was kicked out before they went mainstream.
I would go with Lennon as my 2nd choice.
