They dug a great big hole to drop the Sphinx into?

that the bottom of the great pyramid is 30 ft HIGHER than the bottom of the Sphinx.

is this that theory that the sphinx is actually a way older than the pyramids?
we have no idea of how the place looked when the pyramids were built. There could be a very good reason as to why the placed it there. we just don't know.

If - If the Great Sphinx and the Great Pyramid are on the same height above sea level, it would indicate that the Sphinx was much older. But I am not a geologist. I don't know.

The reason the sphinx is lower is because there is chamber underneath, they had a show on the discovery channel not to long ago talking about this exact same thing. they also discussed who had vandalized the nose on the sphinx. If you want to try to find the episode you should go to the discovery website and see if you can find it. I bet it was one of the Pharaoh's top builders or governor's that had the honor of being buried there.

is this supposed to be funny? the answer is no secret, the pyramids were built on a hill overlooking the courtyard in which the original sphinx was constructed. Much of the courtyard is now buried under millenia of sand. But the records are pretty clear on that.

The Great pyramid is built to a giant slab of rock in the exact center of the earth, they needed to build it on rock so the foundation could support the tremendas weight.
