I answered this question earlier about the words "I love you." I got tons of thumbs down...I can say "I love you." to a neighbor, a friend, my lover, a family member, or a co-worker. Just because someone says "I love you." doesn't always mean that the person is in love with them. "I love you." can mean that you just care for that person. You need to know when someone is using "I love you." strongly, or just saying it to tell you that they care.

It means at that point in time, he may believe he loves you. It could also mean he wants you physicallly, or he wants you to believe something he is telling you and thinks adding those three words will smooth it over. "I'd never do you wrong baby, I love you."
use your knowledge of the guy, is he someone you would trust with your best friend? Is he really there for you most of the time? Does he really do things just to make you happy, especially if he doesn't like them to begin with?
Love is a long term thing, you might feel physical attraction, but love is getting up at 2am to walk the cholikly baby because you are exhausted and he wants to do what he can to help.
Words are words, actions, speak louder.

emotions are a crazy thing. i love my mom. i love the work i do. i love my car. i loved many in the past but i moved on. the love i feel/felt is on different levels. i think a person actions should tell you how they feel about you. yes yes i know you would like to hear it, but love is just a word. it's not as powerful as it was long ago.

I would reserve comment until knowing the timing of the statement. some men will speak of love when they want something from you. that is not love, just a trick they learned to get what they want.

Honestly, I've met more men that say that just because they think that's what we WANT to hear...regardless of whether they actually mean it or not.
Sad, I know..but true.

No! sometimes it means they're trying to get you into bed and they will say anything to get you there.
