Sat alone with my delicate tears rolling down my cheeks
My arms wrapped tighly around my quivering legs
Reminising the moments when I saw your hatred
As your fist grew closer to my innocent face
I shivered and begged you to stay
''Dont go, I love you''
As long as you know that
You can hurt me again
With your hatred growing
As I block your exit
''Don't leave me like this, please, lets talk''
I raise my shaking hands above my face
Protecting myself from a painful beating
He became my addiction
I let him, i begged him, i made him..
STAY
Over and over
Just so i wasnt alone
Each time i stopped him leaving
He would raise his fist
He would grit his teeth
He would push me to a wal;
Door, or floor
Using his force to make me weak.
Some memories were nice.
But they grew to an incredible anger.
And left myself becoming an
empty shell, left alone with nothing.
Memories scar
I miss him.
But he beat me
He hated me
Never loved me
He lied.

I was also in an abusive relationship. My children and I were mentally abused. I stayed only because I could not get out but now I am finally free and doing better. What you are saying sometimes reminds me of what I had went through for a long, long time. I use to feel as though I would never get out and be miserable the rest of my life. We finally divorced and my ex got sick with cancer and passed away. What you have said is beautiful and very deep and thank God you are still young and were able to finally get out.

Very, very deep. I hope you stay away from the abuser. You deserve to be happy, free and loved, really loved. Love doesn't hurt or punch.
Keep using you experience to help others stay away from abusive relationships. I have never been hitten but I live with a verbally abuser. I am getting ready to break this relation. He tells me that he loves me, but that is not what I feel anymore.
Once you realize that you don't deserve what you have, you will stop the abuse and will search for freedom and true happiness.
Keep going girl, God bless you...

It certainly shows you have learned a great lesson, pay attention to all of the lines that tell how he didn't love you. You say you were addicted to him, well he must have been addicted to you because not many would take his pathetic sickness. Because of the pain you have allowed to be inflicted on your life, you have beautiful things in front of you. Just wait and see. Turn all this over. Dont look back. Always look for the happiness in front of you. Dont base this relationship in the normal catagory. Believe you are worthy of the greatest this world has to give. You deserve it honey. Bless you.

People who are in and stay in abusive relationships do not want help to leave it.It's only when they have had enough that they will ask for help.I guess you had enough and left.
And then you say you miss him. It's not just the relationship that's causing the trouble. There is also something wrong with you. I would suggest you see a shrink to make sure you don't pick that same type of guy again.

You are young, you can move on! You are never alone, no matter what you think. God is with you! You have friends and family if not find some. There are people on this earth that do still care for others! You can do better! No one needs someone that doesn't love you the way you love them. It's a two way street. Life is what you make of it!

It is a sad thing because you do not need to be in an abusive relationship. If a man beats on you he does not love you.He is beating on you to make you ugly so nobody else will want you and then he might not want you.Get out before you meet your death. You are too young for that.I can speak from experience.

I think many women will be able to identify and visualize with this poem. I can only hope you are no longer in that relationship and have now become a survivor rather than just another victim. You should share this with the women's advocacy group within your community.

I think it is excellent. I was in an emotionally abusive relationship with an alcoholic for 3 and a half years and felt all of that pain you have written about.
