I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it.
If only liberals believed that too.

What is hilarious about Liberals is that they purport to be all about freedom of speech, unless you don't agree with them. At this point, you are labeled a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, or a narrow-minded Conservative.
The plain truth is, Conservative talk show hosts are more interesting because they bring a wealth of real knowledge and experience. Compare Bill O'Reilly on Fox News with that washed up actor Al Franken, and his pathetic, now-defunct Air America. At least when Rush Limbaugh rants, his observations are clever and insightful. With Liberal talk radio, all they do is rant mindlessly. They try to incite intolerance against anyone who does not share their opinion. Bill O'Reilly gives guests "The Final Word" on his tv program. On Liberal programs, guests are practically never offered such a courtesy, and in fact, the show will edit out what it needs to make the Conservative guest look foolish.
Liberals have the print media, such as the NYT, mainly to themselves. Even the supposedly conservative Chicago Tribune prints a lot of left-leaning material. It's not nearly as balanced as it once was.
I think the only way to even the score in talk radio is to demand that Conservatives stop being so interesting, insightful, and knowledgeable. Tell these Conservative talk show hosts they have to bring themselves down to the level of their Liberal counterparts, kind of like affirmative action for Democrats.

Great source, not. And how stupid can you be. Do you think that what Chavez is good? You know censoring anything that doesn't agree with him? How is that different than allowing people like Rush for instance that do have a broader audience that don't tell the truth and spin real facts. It creates propaganda and a false image of reality. The Democrats simply want the lies and propaganda to stop. You can talk about the various issues at hand but when you are such in the public eye to constantly promote false truths, you are acting in the form of propaganda are you not. They should report responsibly and they don't even come close. I watched FOX the other day and the moron host was talking about how great the economy was and had 4 guests. 3 of which were of course on his side and one that wasnt. The one that wasn't was allowed about 2 seconds of air time before the host blasted him and cut him off and then continued to talk about how great the economy is. No facts to back it up, not one source to point out. Just kept talking about how great it was....is this responsible reporting to even Republicans that are watching and may believe what he is saying..no its not. Fair and balanced, report the news as the news and stop putting this twist on it like Republican broadcasting clearly does...its getting ridiculous.

Liberals have been trying for years. They own the universities. They owned the media. Then this pesky Rush Limbaugh and Robert Murdoch came around and they can't handle it. Gotta shut 'em up.
Balanced free speech? Who decides that? I think ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, Time are all good Liberal institutions. Talk Radio and Fox ARE the balance.

Oh, yes! To you who aren't paying attention; It has already begun. When you institute legal restrictions on a person's right to speech, on the bases of "hurt feelings" you, in all intents and purposes, REMOVE the right.
9th circuit deems 'traditional marriage' and 'family values' hate speech based on ONE person's feelings.
A child was charged with a 'hate crime' for insulting someone with ham.
Moveon.org sends thinly veiled threats to Dem candidates in order to keep Dems from debating on Fox News.
A jerk made a bad joke, and was fired from his job, because people were offended.
The list goes on.
This is an issue that threatens ALL of us! Not some. ALL.
I am offended by many things said, by many people. I 'suck-it-up' because I don't want my right to say my peace infringed upon.
What's the lefty response to all things I find offensive?
Oh, yeah, "if you don't like it, turn it off, change the channel, you don't have to listen or watch."

Uh. When was the last time you read the constitution? It only takes about twenty minutes to read the entire thing including the amendments. In order to amend the constitution, in this case to repeal an amendment, three fourths of the state legislatures must ratify the amendment. The last amendment to be repealed was the eighteenth, prohibition, which was repealed by the twenty third. Democrats, Republicans? They have nothing to say about it.

This is classic conservatism
They spend 7 years merrily destroying the Constitution to push their hate agenda
then make up reasons why the left is responsible for destroying the Constitution
It's a two digit attempt to cover ones tracks now that the bill is about to come due...deflect and forget...it never happened..."the liberals did it"

What nonsense. You’re implying that the current talk radio hosts won’t be able to say what they have been saying for years. That is simply not true. This victim mentality on your part is absurd. If you think that presenting opposing views is a limitation on free speech, then you are entitled to your viewpoint but you are wrong. People are free to say what they want but they might be presented with an additional viewpoint that is different. How horrible is that?

Are you kidding me? It was Arlen Specter (R-PA) who started this "assault" on talk radio. It was in reference to the immigration debate and how the right-talk-radio personalities are framing this issue by pushing the xenophobic angle.
In a similar vein, let's talk about the ACLU for a moment. I hear conservatives rallying against them for being "too liberal"... Why? Because they fiercely uphold our Constitutional Laws and again and again defend numerous 1st Amendment Issues. Ironic, much?

When will the Bush Regime be successfull at making the Constitution "null and void" with those signing statements of Bush's and his illegal Iraq War, also the torture of human beings. How about all the wrongs his Administration did in covering things up, hidden e-mails, investigations of many people on the Republican party that still believes in him. Have you ever noticed that whoever Bush has "full confidence" in will or already has been convicted or is under investigation? Read the Constitution a little better and maybe you will see the light. We who want to hold the Bush Administration accountable "ARE" for the Constitution.
