the expression pie R to the second gives the area of a circle with the radius R. How many square meters of wheat were destroyed when an alien ship made a crop circle of diameter 25 meters in the wheat field?

If I remember right pie is 3.14
hald of the diameter is 12.5 is that the radius.. I guess I am not sure on this one.

You are correct. A = 3.14 (12.5)(12.5) = 490.625

R=12.5m
area=33.14x(12.5)^2=490.87 m^2

Diameter = 25 m
Radius = 12.5 m
Area = π.r ²
Area = π x 12.5² m²
Area = 491 m² (to nearest whole number)

Diamter = R + R = 2 R
so R = .5 D

Area (circle) = PI * R* R

A = PI * (.5D) * (.5D)
= .25 * PI * D * D
= .25 * 3.14 * (25m) * (25 m)
= 490.625 (m * m)
= 490.625 squared meter
