If skateboarding is too dangerous for women, it's too dangerous for men. I would forbid my boyfriend from doing it. :P

I dont think it is any more safe or dangerous for women than it is for men. You shouldnt forbid your gf from doing anything. You should tell her you prefer she doesnt do it and then leave the decision up to her. You'd get much more respect from her doing it that way.

Nothing is more dangerous for women than it is for men...albeit, most of us are a little weaker than guys, doesn't mean we shouldn't take risks and a little precaution before doing something. I would encourage my daughter to be a Vet just as much as I would encourage her to be a Corrections Officer...
And any boyfriend that would dare forbid is girlfriend from anything is a jerk! You can advise her about things, but for heaven's sake, she is not your child or a dog!!
Present her the pros and cons, and if she wants to give it a whirl, let her!! Hey, nothin's wrong with falling on your butt...lol, I sure did, however I know that if I didn't give most things in life a try, I wouldn't be the person I am. At least now I know I have zero sense of balance on the thing!

Well, you wear protective gear when you skateboard, so it's all right. I'm not saying you can't get injured, but men get injured, gender has nothing to do with it.
