Hi. Thanks for your question. I've answered similar questions before regarding emo and goth. I'll paste one of my answers below, and then I'll answer regarding punk:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is important to keep in mind that my response is one that is very short and general. As with all other cultures/subcultures, there are many who do not embrace the same things within these particular subcultures. For example, not all who participate in Hip Hop culture embrace gangsta rap or baggy jeans. You get my meaning. Right? I make a point to say this so that no one will be of the impression that I am stereotyping or that I am promoting stereotypes. (Also keep in mind that there are various subcultures within these subcultures.)

GOTHIC SUBCULTURE:

Origin: United Kingdom, 1970's

Music: Gothic rock, which includes a number of different "dark" sounds and "gloomy" lyrics.

Fashion: Victorian, punk, etc... and black clothing, hair, and make-up.

Interests/Personality: Fascination with the macabre; mysterious, apolitical,

EMO SUBCULTURE:

Origin: The term "emo" hasn't been used in reference to a subculture for very long. It began as a term (in the 1980's) used only to discribe a music genre.

Music: Emotionally charged (hence the name "emo") hardcore punk.

Fashion: Borrows from both punk and gothic fashion. Tight fitting clothing, long bangs, "worn out" sneakers, etc...

Interests/Personality: Open and honest about emotions, dejected, sensitive.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PUNK SUBCULTURE:

Origin: Began in the 1970's, rooted in rock -n- roll music.

Music: Punk rock. Punk rock is a sub-genre of rock -n- roll. Angry lyrics which attack mainstream society and "norms".

Fashion: Originally intended to be shocking and offensive. Body piercings, spike bands, t-shirts displaying band names, ripped pants/shirts, camouflage trousers, etc...

Interests/Personality: Concerned with individual freedoms, particularly the freedom of expression. Reject conformity, embrace visual arts, and desire political change. Dispise sexism and racism and reject supremacists who claim to be punk.

goth: Goth in its simplest form, is a subculture. A group of people who feel comfortable within each others company. There is no specific thing that defines what you need to do or be to fit into the goth scene (except of course the implied black clothing). People in the goth scene all have different musical tastes, follow different religions, have different occupations, hobbies, and fashion sense. emo: Well most people would consider it punk with emotion is what we would call the classification of a new rising way of feeling your inner self. emos usually self harm... emo stands for emotionally unstable.

decades between all
punks-like the kids are dressing now--big sunglasses, off the wall colors coordinating an outfit, big hair of all colors, and quite socially accepted
goth-black rules the clothing, distant from other groups, music is words for their soul--pain, joy, etc
emo-are emotionally identified children who rarely socialize due to the sickness, they are very different from the norm and their music defines them along with the disorder

goths like skulls and wear black and listen to that metal screamy stuff. Emos are gentler versions of goths and more in touch with their emotions whereas goths are quite tough. Punks are more colourful than the two I think and prefer slightly brighter colours and don't listen to quite as depressive music.
