landlord & mediator spoke with me; i told the truth & was disbelieved & discredited as to my relevant facts that i know to be true. am also a person with a disability living in a section8 apartment & i would like to what my rights are & if i have a leg to stand on to pursue any legal recourse

that is a pretty wide open question, it all depends what the false report was.

What sort of legal recourse would you take ? A court case because you and another tenant disagreed on the events? If you are thinking 'financial settlement', don't even bother. You have not been harmed in any way, other than with your landlord's possible opinion of you.

1st of all you need to explain what the false allegation was. Was it noise, indecent exposure, or some sort of breach of contract because you parked in no parking.
2ly, you need to records of all accounts and have witnesses make writing statements considering that on 2% of all cases go to trial and your verbal testamony[oral arguments] will Not be heard if you do not go to trial. But your production of witnness statements will be presented.
Find a Fair housing Attorney in your city, and record everything
