My friend & her 2 kids along with myself & my 2 kids are planning a little vacation this summer. We are all set to see what Atlantic City is like but some of the info I find says it's not a very nice place. We want the dirt! Will we have fun or not? We are planning on hitting the beach, boardwalk & other site seeing. Also any suggestions on places to check out? Thanks!!

Atlantic City WAS nice at one time -- pre Casinos -- when it was a family resort. Now the city away from the Casino areas is not at all inviting or family friendly.
If you are seeking a family resort, go downbeach to Ventnor, Margate or Longport; or better yet to Ocean City for a friendlier, safer vacation with plenty to do for the entire family.

As long as you stay on the Boardwalk, you will have a great time. Atlantic City is very nice. The casinos are beautiful and the beaches are nice. Their is a pier along the Boardwalk that has amusement park and also close by big shopping mall, also you can get a taxi and visit The Borgata andTrumps Marina both big hotels and casinos.have fun.

You will have fun, but dont expect to see anything scenic and beautiful..
The casino will keep you occupied, and the boardwalk will keep the kids occupied. Its not very big either, so all you really have is the boardwalk, the casinos, the shows and the beach.
It will be good for you if you've never been, as an experience and you will have fun, but its not going to make your jaw drop in awe at the gorgeousness of Atlantic City ;)

OK,I go to AC alot.....its not the best place to take kids but we do take our 12 year old. There are new shopping outlets. There are arcades on the Boardwalk and A Ripley's Belive It Or Not. The one restaurant on the Boardwalk you need to take the kids is The Rain Forest!!!! The rooms in the casino are pricey so you might want to stay in Absecon.

Fantastic within a block of the beach. Everything is within a block of the beach. You will never leave the boardwark. The residential parts of AC are really rough looking but you will never have a reason to go there.
Definetely recommend
