I would actually say that the biggest concern is that there is an extremely wealthy elite and 1 percent of the US population own 40 percent of the wealth. Furthermore they have the other 99 percent going at each others throats.

Conservatives go after Liberals and vice versa (Drew Blood above is a case and point) - much of the time on idealogical issues that can't be disussed honestly though soundbites and layers of hatred.

Meanwhile, it's business as usual for that 1 percent.

That's not to say that I don't think issues of health care or the Iraq War etc. aren't important. But since you asked about this country, I think we have to look at ourselves and why we are being divided like this, before we can truly solve the other problems.

Health care, or rather the lack of it, currently with 45 million without adequate health care it puts the rest of the country in danger of a communicable disease, it is also a burden on everyone in this country economically. The U.S. currently ranks number 1 in cost and dead last in quality of care this is a shame for the richest nation in the world. Illegal aliens would be my next choice as they are also a burden on the American taxpayer. Corrupt politicians have been and always will be a fact of life at all levels, I do not think there is an answer to stopping that and it can only be ridden herd on. Try to keep it in check but it will never stop. Iraq will go down in history as Bush's folly, to many have died at the hands of this man to make it trivial, but I think it will be solved shortly after the next election and I am not to worried about it as that day is coming soon.

Corrupt politicians for sure. It seems that our elected officials are no longer concerned with what is good for the country and are totally consumed by power. (both republicans and democrats) The immigration situation is totally out of control and I am sick of illegals. They don't care what is good for America (at least most of them) I feel that if they want to come here they should do it legally and learn the ENGLISH language. They should also know what america stands for and if they don't agree they shouldn't come here and try to change things. I think it was JFK that said....Ask not what your country can do for you.... ask what you can do for your country. What happened to that great mentality?

Bipartisian bickering and an ever increasing beaurocracy leading to a stalled, functionless governing body unable to maintain the basic functions which it was laid out to take care of in the first place. That being, seeing that the basic needs of citizens are met and protection of its territory.

LIBERALISM. Because they put their party above their country and will do and say ANYTHING to get elected back into office.
