We threw an afternoon tea themed baby shower for a friend. It was surprisingly easy and turned out really elegant. We served different herbal teas, varieties of little sandwiches, a few different scones, and other pastries, some fresh fruit and cheese platters etc. We also had a cake. My friend borrowed some of her mother's china for the old fashioned touch. As a favor we ordered teabags that had custom printed packages (really inexpensive!) that said the mom-to-be's name, the date and "A Baby's Brewing" plus a little teabag holder. We didn't play any games at the request of the mom to be but it was entertaining just spending time and talking and eating the yummy food. Also the mom to be was shy about opening gifts in front of people so she asked that we all take a gift or two and take turns opening them. It was actually really fun like that.

Some really fun games are pass the baby, don't say baby, and scavenger hunt. Pass the baby is a game where you pass around a plastic baby doll. The mother to be will sing a lullaby whoever has the baby when the song is done is out. Repeat until one person is left. Don't say baby= Everyone is given 2 clothespins. If someone says baby the person who catches it first gets all the clothespins on that persons shirt. The person who has the most clothespins at the end of the shower wins. Scavenger hunt you look for items related to the baby. ( pacifier, doll, bottle, etc.)
