I am the poorest amateur Latin fan you will ever find, but I'm trying to figure out a word or phrase, either by just learning the actual Latin word or synthesizing one someone who knows better Latin than I do would recognize.

I need a word for "visions," or "waking dreams." Just "seeing" or just "dreams" isn't enough. I mean, like, the psychic / messages from God kind of visions, but not specifically sacred.

The best I could figure out was dream = somnium and to wake = expergiscor but I'm stumped on combining the two.

Please help if there is a real word or in coming up with a new one.

You were there and didn't know it.

Somnia = dreams, visions; fantasies, day-dreams. This is the nominative plural of 'somnium'

You could also use:

Visa = visions; things which are seen, appearances, sights; visual/mental images. This is plural of the 2nd declension neuter noun 'visum'.
