I got my belly button pierced when I was 15 (i am now 19) and I took the ring out probably 3 months ago because im pregnant. I was wondering if where the piercing was will ever be healed and not look like I still have a hole there, or is it going to be like that even if its closed?

thanks a bunch

I had mine done when I was 22, (before it was mainstream) I am now 35 and have had 4 children. The hole will close up and it will scar, sadly. There is still the outer part of the hole visible but the inside has all healed up. I had my first child at age 29 and had to take it out then, it closed up within like 24 hours. Unfortunately I do not think I will ever have the physique I had before so it really does not matter since I do not want anyone to see my tummy now again anyway-those days are long gone!

It will probably never heal up completely. You have had it for a while, so your skin has healed with a hole in it. That's the way it's going to be. It's the same with piercing anything, you will still have a hole, even if the skin closes up, but the only way to get the skin to totally close up is to re-open the wound and make sure the skin stays together. You will still have a scar, so it really doesn't matter what you do.

I got mine when I was 20 and was pregnant at 21...I took my ring out and am now 24 almost 25, there is a scar there and yes it did close completely, but the scar is honestly not all that bad..its not a hole, just a scar, but you can totally tell it was from a belly piercing.

i had a belly ring and took it off because i was pregnant. I had a hole there for a very long time. I think it took a year or more for it to even be close to closing up.

hi. snap! i had mine done a few year ago and when i fell pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago i took it out and thought it would heal up but after she had been born i thought i would see if it would go back in cause it did not look very nice with 2 holes through my skin and it did. because the skin had been stretched it stopped the holes healing up. i am now pregnant again and have took it out but only till after the birth. good luck wi baby x

Well for my piercing it never healed. You can tell I have had a piercing there. But I know of some where they have taken the piercing out and it closed up like they never had one at all. So I guess it just depends.

I am currently 6 months pregnant...the bottom hole is closed w/ a ugly scare but the top hole is still open! Makes it look very weird.....it just depends on your body, my cousins did not close at all and she was able to reinsert her piercing, it just depends on ones body heals...

If you have had it for four years you probably will always have that hole. You can put it back in after if you want. I have had mine peirced for 8 years and mine stays a hole... I keep a ring in it. I am prego now and haven't taken it out yet. I wont until my button starts to pop out
