Apart from one or two people who had a problem with me being American (because of current US politics), no, everyone in Dublin was very polite and friendly. It has to be hard with all those tourists anyhow. I have always lived in cities with high numbers of foreign visitors, so I kind of understand that it can be a pain having a bunch of tourists wandering about, clogging everything up But overall, everyone in Dublin was very nice, as were the people in the other towns I visited.
It's funny - many people usually ask or assume people from the US are arrogant! The answer is the same - No.

I didnt find that at all when I was there. I found them to be just like everyone else. Most go about their daily routine as people do where you and I live and if you stop someone to ask a question anyone we talked to was more then helpful. If you ask any shop owners or pub owners or anyone who works in the public they're more then willing to help you out. If you happen to ask someone on the street, well it would be no different then asking someone at home, sometimes you get a helpful one and sometimes you dont. I found Dublin to be an amazing city with lots of interesting things to do and the people very nice!

They can be to people like you that make such generalisations. Many many tourists that come to Dublin insist on asking ridiculous questions about whether or not electricity is everywhere on the island, if leprechauns are real, if we accept 'real' money (more of a problem when the euro wasn't in!) and so on. It's a city with over 1 million people - obviously, some will be arrogant, just like any other city in the world.

Residing in a wide bay, Dublin lies between Howth in the north and the headland of Dalkey to the south and the River Liffey split the city in two making using this town a fascinating city you will have the chance with hotelbye to go to it. Dublin has given the entire world such well-known literary like: Yeats, Beckett, Joyce, Shaw, and Wilde. Dublin was a UNESCO City of Literature in 2010 therefore is definitely an exciting city to see especially if you want to visit Bewley's Oriental Café ;.Many might say that Bewley's Oriental Café is the treasure in the crown. Bewley's Oriental Café is a company which was built in 1927.

Thats the southside Dubliners, they like to pretend they own the place. Only have the crack with you southsiders, I luv ye really. Im born and bred in Dublin and one think I wouldnt call any Dublin person is arrogant(ad theres a hell of a lot of things that I can call them). Seriously, they are the salt of the earth, warm, friendly, loyal and funny as hell. But do anything wrong on one of us, and your life won't be worth living!

Dont be silly. You can't make generalisations like that about a city without appearing naive and uninformed. Yes there are arrogant people in Dublin, there are also lovely genuinely friendly people. Our racial stereotype is that of a drunken farmer in an Aran jumper riding home on a donkey to his 1 roomed cottage after a day toiling the fields..... ha ha ha! Oh and he hasn't an arrogant bone in his body, 'salt a da earth',

I was only there for a few days but didn't feel the people were arrogant. People in the bigger cities most anywhere are probably always going to have that sort of "keep-all-to-myself" attitude, its just their way of going about their busy lives. You just have to go grab a pint, start talking, and let yourself discover how genuinely wonderful Dublin and it's people are!
