John Edwards is talking about the 2 Americas, the rich and the poor. Thats really something when someone super rich like Edwards is going to help the working class. I never understood the Democrats, which their tax and spend attitude would ever help any working class, or poor people in this country. Lets face most of the senaters are filthy rich they didnt get that way by giving a damn about anyone beneath them. The only good senators are the ones we vote out, then we dont have to listen to their bull about carring for the poor.

Gotta love the GOP response:

"John Edwards likes to talk about the 'Two Americas' but he should add a third America — his. The America of $400 haircuts, mansions, hedge funds and tax loopholes is one uniquely his own."

Excellent.

Tax and Spend???

Hasn't this administration been guilty of SPEND AND SPEND ANMD SPEND SOMEMORE?

Most people on here are clearly the types who deride Edwards simply for being an "ambulance chasing trial lawyer" but of course that's because they're simply parroting back the drivel they've been spoonfed all their lives. Here's a summary of Edwards' most famous case:

John prosecuted a claim on behalf of a 3 yo girl whose intestines were literally sucked out of her body when she sat down over a powerful suction pump in a kiddie pool which was inadequately covered by a flimsy plastic piece, leaving her dependent on medical assistance which would cost her and her family millions of dollars during her lifetime.

Testimony from pool design expert witnesses showed that a sturdy suction cover could have been provided at a cost of only an additional 25 CENTS, yet the defendants chose to utilize the flimsy plastic piece TO SAVE A MEASLY 25 CENTS PER PUMP.

That's how much businesses care about you. Your safety wouldn't be worth 25 CENTS to them if it weren't for people like Edwards.

That's a valid point that is true about the Democratic party. They talk a lot about empowering minorities but if you look at the strategy meetings or just the party leadership, it's possible to argue that you'll get a more diverse turnout at a Dick Cheney Barbecue.

John Edwards has probably never been to a bad area of town without a camera crew following behind. So his two Americas are the places he goes to and the places he stops in for photo ops.

Are you guys hired anti Edwards hit men! This is the 3rd exact same question and it doesn't hold water! I guess rich Republicans speak for the poor! Not!

Tax and spend Democrats?

Who ran up a 3 1/2 trillion dollar deficit. That is BIG spending, and it was a Republican, George Bush. And he did it by giving tax cuts to the rich and budget cuts to the poor!

You have it A__ backwards, as usual!

My issue is not whether they are rich or poor, and yes my state has a 2 non-millionaires in the House, it is how they vote and who they screw! We KNOW how Republicans vote! We have had 12 years of it!

Yea I wish someone really would help the working class American. It is sad when it is extremly obvious that the rich political snobs dont give a **** about anyone but themselves and also dont care who dies or goes hungry or has to sleep in the street because they will never feel the pain of what it is like to ever be a working class American. Would someone help this country PLEASE!!

Well not ALL the rich are liars like Dictator Dumbya who has chosen to STEAL from the American people. Edwards, Corzine, and Ned Lamont are good examples of the few who care about more than themselves after they have taken good care of themselves.

funny all these democrats/liberals always complain about the G.O.P. rich, but always seem to omit ,that they too are the rich, and in most case even more wealthy than those in the G.O.P.democrat/liberal politicians, always seem to think they know whats best for the working American they have no idea, what work is,at least G.O.P. politicians encourage you to join their ranks, that of the successful American, because as we all know a poor man does not fuel a powerful economy, just as mexico!

Let me put it to you in numbers.

I spend $400 a month in health care out of my checking account. I spent $200 a month on insurance premiums before I pay co-pays, which is another $100 a month for prescriptions, doctor visits. The insurance comes out of my payroll check and the co-pays out of my checking account.

Those are things that can be regulated by the gov't and would come out of the tax bracket instead of our checking account at a cheaper premium.
