It's a great book. You may not appreciate it as much at your age, but it's a classic and has a lot meanings in it. The story is good too, but set in a time that may seem foreign to you.

I think you'd be doing yourself a service to at least attempt it.

If you are a good reader, and are not too impatient to look up words that you don't understand, you'll love this book.

It contains romance, action, history, crime, and a lot about the rich vs. the non-rich. It is a great book, and is very short considering all the information it contains.

You can also view the movies "The Great Gatsby" (1974) and another one in about (2000). The one from 1974 is longer and more glamorous--but you should really watch both (Netflix has both).

Watching Robert Redford, Sam Waterston, Mia Farrow and more in the 1974 version is what made me first read the book--and I'm so happy that I did. I've read it many times since.

It's easily read and has a sort of soap-opera feel to it, but sure, you can read it. Just don't get impatient when the beginning and very end seem to float off into oblivion. They are the tough parts. Once you get up to about page ten the story flows and yes, it would be appropriate and good reading for you age. It's weird, but fun also.

I read it when I was 13. It's definitely an "easy" read if you are not a "nerd reader", and there is enough action so that it won't put you to sleep. Plus, it's not a very long book. So for your situation, I recommend that you read it for your summer school assignment.

It's a good book......It's a classic so if you if you read it now, you'll already have knowledge of it when you read it again in high school or college.

Personally, I found it kinda boring.

lol, I'm 14 and I read it last year. It's an awesome book, and practically a short read. Hopefully you'll like it...just try it and see

In my opinion, it's just a soap opera. I didn't like it at all. But since you are 13, it's a simple read so it should be suitable.

well, it depends on your reading level i suppose. Most 13 yr olds are reading stupid teen novels so if you are one of those ppl i feel sorry for you. but you should really read it carefully. it's a classic, so....watch out. it's gonna be good for you if you read it right.
