Time to book a holiday for myself and my 12 year old son in February, went to Tenerife this year and it was brilliant 'nice weather and a different excursion every day', don't really want to go to the same place twice and would appreciate any suggestions. Living in north of England and don't want a long haul flight.

How about Egypt and Jordan, great beaches, very hot, lot's to see...

Then, seeing as you're flying down near the rquator for the Canary Islands, why not head to the other coast of Africa, and go to the coast in Kenya or Tanzania?

Or, try one of the other Canary Islands like Gran Canaria or Lanzarote perhaps?

Hope that helps

Philip

the climate in February is probable to be very friendly and lightweight, surely above 20C in the time of the day. it would get cloudy now and then. the main significant tourist inns are interior the south of the island, the south gets warmer sunnier climate. the main significant inns being Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. the only important motel interior the north is Puerto de l. a. Cruz. Tenerife, like each and every of the Canary Islands, is an all 12 months around trip spot, it does not close down interior the wintry climate. Playa de las Americas itself being the kind of extensive motel has diverse variety and type. areas including Fanabe may well be ideal for you, no longer being particularly as centred on enormous bar nightlife because of the fact the valuable area of city. different smaller inns interior the south you ought to look into are Los Gigantes, Calleo Salvaje.

There are several Canary islands, each with its own culture, well, name anyway. On one of them years ago was a small cafe called The flamingo, the steak was out of this world. Scotland is also a fabulous place to visit. They do good food also.

Try Gran canaria, but go to the south of the island, its hotter. Maspolomas is great, not too busy. If you like night life try Puerto Rico.

Cyprus is nice - or if you want a shorter flight how about one of the other Canary Islands - they are all very different from each other!

I'll second Madeira and/or the Azores:

Rome is also great in winter:
