Does Norton anti virus kill the virus, after it scans for it?

I have a virus, and I'm scanning for it, will it kill the virus, once found?

If it is capable of removing the virus, NAV will do so. Some are not removable by the program. In that event, Norton will direct you to removal instructions on their website.
