I agree with Justin R. and starysky2004. Favorite of all time...Kirby - no comparison
Current player - I love the whole team, but having to choose one I'll go with Santana. He can even hit. He hit a stand up double Tuesday night against the Mets. Put that together with a full nine-inning game shut out. That's awsome.

This is such a tough question to answer, and all the previous answers would be on my list in a big way.
But the real reason the question is hard to answer is because the Twins look not only for good talent, but good people as well.
Cuddyer is a magician and leads a charitable organization ("Cuddy's kids" I think) besides hitting for average and some power and being at the top of the league in defensive assists (he's developed a Vlad-like arm).
Torii is always similing and joking, is having a career year, has (3?4?5?) gold gloves, one of the best defensive centerfielders in the game and has never been elected to an all-star team.
Justin Morneau will be a force in the next 3 years. There's a reason he's an MVP. But up until last year, he roomed with Joe Mauer and was rarely bothered when he'd go to Cub Foods for groceries. Even though he may not be able to do that anymore, at least he has remained humble as he and Torii pretty much carry the team through offensive struggles.
Joe Mauer is a hometown kid who's got power, average, speed, armstrength, AND he's committed to playing with the Twins (even though he could get better money somewhere else).
Johan Santana is the best lefthanded pitcher (despite the lack of run support this yera) in the league.
Pat Neshek is just cool. He has a, I believe, 1.08 ERA, can get lefties and righties out, and may be a closer some day. He's also a nice guy.
Mike Redmond (not mentioned yet) is a backup catcher and is completely content. Yet, if he gets put in games (when Mauer's out) he bats .300+, by slapping the ball to right field over and over again. He's also a great mentor and cheerleader in the dugout and was a key player in the Twins' division win last year (I think he's a key player in the limited success the twins have had this year too).
Nick Punto plays with all his heart -- diving into first and all over at short and third... I'm guessing that he'll get his swing back some time soon (unless last year was a flook)
Luis Castillo has a nack for getting on base one way or another and REALLY cares about his defense and quality at bats. He's dedicated to the game and dedicated to helping his team. He also owns the longest game streak without an error at second base (almost no one noticed!)
Joe Nathan is great; I think Kevin Slowey will be great.... even Gardie is great.
How do you choose among that fantastic lineup? I think it's a tie -- Cuddy (for his personality); Morneau (for his bat, defense, and humble attitude, and for the fact that he's the rare Canadian); Mauer (for his loyalty and skills); Torii (for his attitude and defense, and for engendering in me an eternal optimism); and Redmond (for his heart and ability to work in the clutch.)

Apparently we all hate Morneau?
I love Neshek's delivery as the earlier person said, Cuddyer is a great guy, Hunter is a great defensive player, Mauer is a great hitter, Nathan is just, well, the best closer in baseball, and Santana is the best starter in baseball, even though his record begs to differ, but my favorite player is Morneau because he's the MVP man! His fielding is great and he's just a great player.

in case you have notived virtually each and every extremely diehard twins fan has picked Kirby Puckett and so shall I Kirby Puckett develop into between the suitable gamers for the twins and he develop into an exceptionally likeable guy, i went to his memorial on the previous dome (hmm weird and wonderful to declare previous dome) and that i broke down in tears remembering the guy, the legend, Kirby Puckett. yet there are patently different super gamers i've got faith Killabrew, Olivia, has Carew been indexed properly those are of all time yet possibly sometime mauer might make his way up this record.

I'm going with someone who doesn't play for the Twins anymore and someone who is no longer with us. Kirby Puckett. When I was growing up, he was my favorite player. He was such a great player and I really miss him. I'm not a Twins fan, but he will forever be one of my favorite players of all time.

As a baseball fan, it would be hard not to like Torii Hunter. The guy always has a smile on his face, he is a good hitter, and he is always full go in the OF. Any guy who crashes into walls and gives up his body for the sake of the team, is a selfless ball player...he's got my vote.

I would have to go with Michael Cuddyer 295-8-45 this year and huge up-side potential. I understand he is a great teammate and good in the clubhouse as well.

He doesn't play anymore, but Kirby Puckett was my alltime fav from the Twins. A portly dude who was fast as hell and could smack the hell out of the ball. That's a real athlete
