Set little reminders for yourself to remain focused – set mini-goals for yourself. Limit the number of stimuli you have access to (or has access to you!). Clear your desk except for the one project you are working on. (Example: Instead of an in-box, have an in-drawer in your desk - can't see the work piling up to cause a distraction).
Some drugs can help- but too many people go the chemical route which can cause damaging effect to your insides and pocketbook. If you can train yourself to focus and persevere, you will be better off in the long run. Use Meds as a last resort!

I'm sure I am--as I was left-handed, then forced-switched in First Grade. This switched laterality really messed up my speech, ability to read--everything! My anxiety was so high when I studied for a test, I finally found a system that worked for me! Cram the night before until midnight; set the alarm for 3a.m.; then in a semi-sleep state, read through the material again! This seems to allow the material to imprint upon my unconscious?? or whatever. Go to sleep and then rush to school the next morning and the answers pour out perfectly! That doesn't help much with analysis etc., but sure got me through HS. Later in my '30's, got my teaching certificate at UC Berkeley and got to run Tollman's bright strain rats. I realized for the first time, that I was thinking when designing the different mazes! I went on for an MA in Guiance and Counseling and did the work for an Ed Specialist. I found that I was pretty good working with very troubled adolescents--young women and guys, and really enjoyed them and the work! I was never good at details--but realized I could really see "the Big Picture". I think that it's creativity at one extreme and analyitical at the other. I hope you find some interesting subjects that use the more creative part of your mind/personality! Those interests really help make life/studies so much more enjoyable! Good Luck! Get through school so that you can enlarge your interests and hopefully, find work that you feel good at!
