I'd have to say if you go by the history books Deion was the better NFL player. It's easy to say "if this guy didn't retire he would have..." that's no guarantee. So I go with Deion and what he did versus Bo and what he could have done.
Better athlete though --- give it to Bo

Who is the better NFL player that's not a fair comparison. Bo only played a few years & got injuried. If Bo would have had a 10 year NFL career he would have broke every possible record. Deion was the better NFL player because of longenvitiy & he was the best corner ever. He would shutdown your best WR & then go back & return a punt for a td. Steve Young admitted that when Deion was on the field he threw to the other side because Deion had wicked closing speed.
The better athlete is even more difficult. Bo won the Heisman & was the best player in college & one of the best backs in the NFL when he finally joined the Raiders. Bo was the better baseball player he was an all-star. Deion was a world class sprinter & once left a college baseball game to run in a relay & did it with his baseball pants on. It was said he ran a 4.2 40 in pads which is unheard of.
The best athlete is a draw for me these guys probably could have been studs in any sport!!!

PRIME TIME - NEON DEION!!!
Bo Jackson's career was WAY too short- he doesn't really have enough of a career for comparison, while Sanders played for a LONG time, he was even useful in his old age to a Super Bowl Ravens team.
True, Deion was never wild about tackling but he's still the best shutdown cornerback the league has ever seen. And he was even more dangerous on kickoff returns than today's best- guys like Dante Hall and Devin Hester.

Deion Sanders has played in a superbowl and world series, he is flashier, a better athlete and his career has last longer than bo's. Bo was a bad man but Prime Time Neon Deion is a true NFL hall of famer the best corner and return man of all time.

Overall Athlete - Bo " Knows It All " Jackson ( If you got a chance to watch him in college or pros, in baseball or football, A FREAK !!!)

Bo Jackson is the best athlete I have ever seen. You can say Deion was the better football player but only because Bo got hurt.

Better NFL player was Deion Sanders. He had all the moves as a corner, and he knew it.
Bo Jackson was probably the better athlete though.

Easily Bo Jackson. If he had played full seasons in the NFL, he would hold all the records and be in the Hall of Fame. He was faster than Deion, and much stronger. Everyone feared tackling him. He was a beast. Deion was good, but not a Bo Jackson.
