The only "safe" way to have sex is to not have it lol. No matter what day it is, there is always a chance you can get pregnant or contract a disease without contraceptives. Even if you do use them, there is still a chance of this happening. Abstinance is the only completely 100% "safe" way to not get pregnant or contract a disease.

In most cases yes, usually when a M-cycle stops they say from that day to 10-12 days after but again its a chance you take as well. They say you can ovulate by the 7th day unknowing it and all it takes is one time for pregnancy to happen. Stay on the safe side and use protection if you have no intention of becoming a parent to early...Use your best judgment and good luck

It's safe to have sex, but it is not safe if you don't want to get pregnant. Some women ovulate twice a month (although they only get one period). Some ovulate very shortly after their period starts and then don't have their period for quite a long time. Basically, you are dealing with the rhythm method and that has been shown over and over to be unsuccessful for most couples.

Nothing is 100 percent effective but usually if you have sex 1-5 days after or before you period you are generally safe from pregnancy. It depends if you can calculate your body. It takes time to get to know yourself. It is possible you can get pregnant seriously if you have sex in that specail 4 days within 12 to 14th day of your ovulation..... : )

Depends on your definition of 'safe.' If you are talking STD safe, then it depends on whether or not either of the people have an STD. If you are talking pregnancy safe, the egg may still be in the uterus a few days after the cycle stops.

HI..I think it's safe to use protection..no matter what time of the month it is..
One time, when my husband and I thought it was safe..I became pregnant with my 3rd child.. A beautiful girl ..And I love her dearly.
But it was my 3rd c-section..A little too soon, after my second child c-section..But thank God..everything was okay!
So even though you think you're safe.. be careful !. Use protection..
.
Anyway..take care and have a wonderful day..

It is NEVER safe to have unprotected sex. However, if you are referring to whether or not you could get pg, I've always heard that you are most fertile the first 5 days after the last day of your period. SO, proly not.

Nope. Truth is that it isn't 100% safe DURING your cycle. It is highly unlikely you'll get pregnant when you are menstruating, but it is possible. The day after the cycle stops, you are exponentially more likely to get pregnant. Will you? Probably not. But think carefully. Can you afford to be wrong?

What you asking about is called "the rhythm method"...

The percentages for conception are lower, but the rhythm method is flawed and not 100% one reason being sperm can survive in a woman for up to 7 days therefore it can still cause her to become pregnant when her ovulation cycle does hit.
