Tackiness is subjective. This does not mean that you will not find wide agreement over whether something is tacky; groups of people often have developed similar ideas about what is acceptable or not acceptable, tacky or not tacky. Still, I don't think there is anything inherently tacky - that is, tacky regardless of any judgment that may be made, or point of view that may exist.

Of course, were anyone to walk over to a bulletin board, pull out a thumbtack, and say, "I thus refute you," I may not have a ready response...

Some things are just plain tacky. Picking your nose in public is TACKY(well unless you are less than 5 yrs old).

Lemme think, tacky without exception including age? You know the really old and really young can get away with a lot. I can't at the moment think of a universal tacky for all ages.

Sure, tackiness is subjective. The person being tacky seldom thinks of himself as tacky, the same way a golfer never really considers that he's dressed like a clown.

Certainly it's subjective! I mean, how can anything be tacky unless you THINK it is tacky? Thus the subjectiveness.

Wow...I'm redundant.
